Guardian Angels & Padre Pio

The novena to find out your guardian angel's name is this:

  • Go to Mass nine times (does not have to be consecutive).
  • Each time you are at Mass, be present.  And, while you are in line to receive communion, say a prayer similar to this, "I offer up my Eucharist so that I may grow closer to my guardian angel".
  • After you receive communion at the ninth Mass, during your thanksgiving prayer, say a prayer asking to know your guardian angel's name.  And listen.
When you offer the reception of your communion for another person or intention, you are asking God to transfer your preparation for and thanksgiving after communion.  When you offer up your communion, you are not asking God to transfer the principal effects of the sacrament, namely:

  • the growth in sanctifying grace
  • the love of God and neighbor
  • the lessening of passion
  • the right to a glorious resurrection
  • the forgiveness of venial sins
  • the remission of temporal punishment due to forgiven sins.
