We may think we understand what is going on when we experience difficulty, but there is One who sees the whole picture from a different angle.
Journal Questions
- What do you often pray for?
- Do you think most of the time people pray selfishly?
- Have you had situations when God's blessings came through unpleasant experiences? If not, do you think that can happen?
- Think of when you (or a person close to you) were angry with God or doubted His goodness and love. What do you think causes feelings like that? Perhaps not trusting God is part of the reason.
- Have you ever had a friend betray you and tell others about something you shared in confidence? Do you think God knew about it? Do you think He cared? Isaiah 55:1-3.
- What do you think Laura means when she sings, "What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise"?
Extremely difficult situations often turn out to be the best experiences for us even though we hate being in the middle of the struggle.

Is there any situation you are currently facing in which you need to trust God for the outcome? Remember He sees the whole picture and will give you the courage to walk through any situation.
